Iconic places in downtown Oaxaca
The Temple of Santo Domingo de Guzmán is an example of New Spain baroque architecture. The first construction projects for the building date back to 1551, when the Antequera de Oaxaca City Council ceded a total of twenty-four lots to the Dominican Order for the construction of a convent in the city.
The Oaxaca Ethnobotanical Garden is a 2.3-hectare botanical garden in Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico. Live shows hundreds of species of plants, all of them native to Oaxaca. The plants come from different regions of the State, both from arid and humid climates, from the low tropical zones and from the temperate and cold mountainous areas. The Garden thus represents the great diversity of climates, geological formations and types of vegetation that characterize Oaxaca.

Oaxaca y sus alrededores
Monte Albán is an archaeological site located 8 km from the city of Oaxaca de Juárez. It was the ancient capital of the Zapotecs and one of the first cities in Mesoamerica. The archaeological zone of Monte Albán was declared by UNESCO, together with the Historic Center of the City of Oaxaca, as Cultural Heritage of Humanity on December 11, 1987.
Hierve el Agua is a system of petrified waterfalls, formed by calcium carbonate. The waterfalls are of natural origin and were formed thousands of years ago, by the runoff of water with a high mineral content. We recommend you go very early to avoid large groups of people.
The Tule Tree is the tree with the largest trunk diameter in the world. Its real age is unknown, but according to estimates it is more than 2000 years old. It has a crown circumference of approximately 58 meters and a height of 42 meters. With a trunk diameter of 14.5 meters, it is estimated that at least 30 people would be needed with their hands intertwined to cover it and approximately 500 people fit in its shadow.
If you travel to the coast of Oaxaca
Boats depart from the Main Beach to meet turtles and dolphins. Zicatela is the one with the best atmosphere and the mecca of surfing, due to its constant waves. Playa Bachoco is ideal to go as a couple and take a horseback ride. On the other hand, we have Puerto Ángel, the magnet for backpackers and nature lovers who are looking for a getaway to see waterfalls or prefer to snorkel in calm waters. Finally, we arrive at the Magical Town of Mazunte with its turtle camps open almost all year round and its sister beach, Zipolite, surely you know that this is the only nudist beach in Mexico.
